Thank you for visiting Pic-N-Paint Face and Body Art!

I’m Ashley Pickin, owner and artist. I have been painting all my life, and started Pic-N-Paint as a way of having fun on the weekends.  Who knew that it would turn into a career?  Going on five years, Pic-N-Paint has to grown to include new and fun activities like balloon art and temporary tattoos.  I can proudly say that I am doing what I love most because body art has brought me nothing but joy and many, many new friends!

Starting out self-taught, I am constantly broadening my knowledge and skills as a face painter. I have trained with leading makeup instructors, and I have traveled to Florida and New Mexico to learn and compete at national face and body art conventions.

I am proud to say that I am an award winning face painter, having placed 1st in cheek art, 1st in fast full face designs, and 3rd in fabulous full face designs at the Face and Body Art Convention in Orlando, FL in January of 2009.  I have also won two 1st place awards, and four honorable mentions from the online international face painting contests, held by Snazaroo Brand Face Paints:  first place – Day of the Dead and first place – Teens.

I am doing all of this and slowly but surely finishing school as an undergraduate at Old Dominion University, where  I am majoring in Art Education and Ceramics.
